Now if SSJ4 Gogeta went against the Hacks Superman used in the deathbattle, hed have it in the bag provided he wins within his fusion time limit. I do think Supes had a unfair advantage, seeing how they took "Modern" Superman, being every Superman since 1984 I believe and fusing them into one version made it nigh impossible for Goku to win.
There is honestly only one way to find out if Goku is overall better than Superman. You must take every non retconned version of Superman and have each version fight Goku. You then tally the amount of wins that each hero earns. If Goku's total wins outweigh Superman's, then Goku is the overall strongest fighter. Yeah theres versions of Superman he cant beat, but if he can beat most of them then id say hes better.
